Online shopping has revolutionized the cigar and pipe business. This has been a big plus for many people who are not near a B&M (Brick and Mortar) smoke shop.

It’s the NJBS 2020 COTY TOTY (that's geek speak for Cigar of the Year and Tobacco of the Year) Episode! At the end of each year, we look at what we think were the year’s best freshman releases for cigars and tobacco, and tell you what our picks are for the top spot.
2020 saw some great new releases, and picking the best of the best was no easy task. And that was an enjoyable problem to have! Our COTY award went to the Perdomo 10th Anniversary Box Pressed Maduro Epicure and the TOTY award went to G.L. Pease Spark Plug. What was the competition, and how did we come to those conclusions?

Super Scotch Pairings!

We often approach the pairings for the show starting with the cigar or tobacco and then asking what would it pair with. Tonight, we reversed that philosophy, and started with the drink and then looked for what would pair well with it.
There is nothing like coming home or arriving at your favorite bar or pub on a cold winter's night and warming up with a finger or two of your favorite Scotch. What cigars or tobacco will make an amazing pairing with a dram of your favorite single malt?

The COVID Christmas Episode

Christmas is right around the corner, but this is 2020, and that means it is a COVID Christmas! While no one was sick with “the rona,” shipping delays and pet illnesses left us without the planned 7-20-4 One 13 cigars, the Savinelli and Peterson’s Christmas pipes, Paul, and Kendra.

We went with one of Paul, aka “Pablo Maduro’s” favorite cigars for the holidays, the Oliva Melanio Double Toro which we paired with Redemption Rye, and Erik Stokkebye’s new bulk aromatic, Morning Blend, which we paired with B&B. Pastor Padron shares his weekly Cigar Confession, and his top 5 most hated Christmas songs of all time. Dave and Nick try and stay positive and lift the Pastor out of what they see as a real grinchy Christmas mood. Do they succeed? Are these worthy of being one your short list of Yuletide smokes?
